Since we took over, we’ve revamped all our rooms to make them as scrumptuous as possible. Naturally we still have all the creature comforts such as DSTV, air conditioners, study desks, coffee & tea trays etc.
Each room has its own vibe and colours. We have three rooms upstairs and three rooms downstairs. The dining area and kitchen is upstairs (in case that’s important to you), and the downstairs has – well no stairs, so is easily accessible from the car park and each has their own private entrance. Some of our rooms have King sized beds which can converted into Twins (2 x single beds) if necessary.
Then there’s our Family Room, which is just a few metres away from the main guest house. This lovely retreat has one bedroom with a king sized bed, which again can be made up into two x singles if you wish, a fold out double sofa couch (for kids only), a sitting room, kitchen and en-suite. It has its own security entrance which opens out onto a verandah overlooking our Swimming Pool.
In addition, we also have two self catering Budget rooms. These are certainly not Spartan, but just slightly less salubrious than our other rooms, as they are designed for singles only. If you’re here to study or on a budget, then this is for you! They are both separate to the main building, are serviced daily, include free Wifi and secure parking, as well as a buffet breakfast (cereal, yoghurt, fruit, toast, juices and tea/coffee). If you still want a cooked breakfast after that, then there is an extra charge for this. Each unit has a single bed, TV, toilet, shower, cupboard, desk, sink, microwave, portable stove, crockery and cutlery. However there is a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Rest assured, that all our rooms no matter which you choose, have quality linen, fresh fluffy towels, bar fridges and hairdryers. Oh, and two of our luxury rooms have ball and claw baths as well as showers.
So what about the grub? A yummy breakfast is served every morning from 07:00 to 09:00 in the main dining room upstairs, with a buffet of cereals, yoghurts, fruits and fruit juices to choose from. We’ll then take your order for the hot cooked stuff – eggs, bacon, sausages, mushroom and tomatoes. On weekends you can sleep in a little later as breakfast extends to 09:30. If you have any particular dietary requirements, please give us some advance notice and we’ll do our best to make what you want.
We also have our own laundry on premise and our staff love to iron, so (for a small fee) why not take advantage of that and ask them to do your washing, drying and ironing, while you attend to more important matters.
Lastly, we’re a multi-cultural guest house, so please don’t take offence to the Australian flag flying proudly next to the South African one. An Aussie “Sheila” lives here!
